Simple Linux video editor

Need a simple Linux video editor?  Shotcut is pretty good:

Use the AppImage file directly, or install via:

snap install shotcut --classic

My only challenge initially was how to add a video file to the timeline -- you need to click the plus (+) sign:

P.S. The latest version has a better icon for cut to allow you to remove video segments from the beginning, middle, or end and has the best non-keyframe support of any tool I've tried. Also, the default export setting is really good but they also provide a lossless option if you have a lot of hard drive space.
