Lubuntu 18.10 post-install fixes
1. add terminal to quicklaunch
I recently installed Lubuntu 18.10 and couldn't figure out how to add the terminal app to my quicklaunch area. After a little searching I came across this answer which says only drag-and-drop is currently supported so you just find the app you want in the start menu and click and drag to the quicklaunch area (a green plus icon will appear) and release.
2. replace firefox with chromium
sudo apt-get install -y chromium-browser && sudo apt-get remove -y firefox
Start > Preferences > LXQt settings > Session Settings
click on "Default Applications" and make sure "Web Browser" says "chromium-browser" (or manually change it by typing that)
3. change default folder view
Open file manager to any directory. In the menu, choose Edit > Preferences. In Behavior > Default view mode, set to Detailed List View
